deer ribs

i am having a party tonight and doing my deer ribs on the bbq. how should i cook them up

Make sure you peel off all the membranes.

Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce (Costco).  That's what I like!

You can boil them to get them started (and tender) but make sure to spice the water or you will boil out the flavor. Another way is to start them earlier in a slow cooker. Then bbq slow.

Let us know what you did and they turned out.  I've never heard anything about deer ribs, but they sound good to me.   :drool:

ok, my ribs are always tougher than hell, but I've never boiled them.  That helps?  how long before they hit the cue

I like deer ribs in moderation..I usually use bbq sauce to offset the extreme gaminess..If you think you can handle "gamey" eat deer ribs thats the test!. sometimes Ill use a huckleberry bbq sauce or something similar.....

Till they are almost falling off the bone. Maybe check em at an hour. Kinda depends on the deer, amount of fat/meat and how hard you are boiling them.

I don't even bring the rib cage home, there is never enough meat to worry about and its generally gamie and tough.

Actually there is a lot of meat on the ribs of most animals. If we don't do ribs we add it to the burger pile. Was brought up to take it all out and not waste any of it.

Leave the ribs, take the meat.  Besides, the only real bbq ribs are pork.  ;)
